I don’t have the time to be that actively involved in listening to music anymore. I do miss getting some info on the artists I’m exposed to on Pandora but all in all a much better listening experience for me. Thanks for the comment.

But Spotify has the advantage of letting you choose the artist and song you want to listen to at any given moment.

Pandora can’t let you choose specific songs, because then it would be crossing the line from Internet Radio to personal music player, and need a whole different kind of music license.

On the whole, I like the Pandora listening experience better because there is more discovery, and because it’s easier to use — just pick an artist and go.

I find Spotify to be a lot like listening to my iPod, but with a more confusing interface.

Nevertheless, sometimes you need to be able to specify the artist and track, and then Pandora can’t help you.

I’m the GM for WCWS at The College of Wooster (http://woo91.wooster.edu) and I’ve been looking for some good resources.

About Spotify–its Terms and Agreements state that it cannot be used for commercial use. With its expansive library, I’ve been wondering if this is a resource we might look into for on-air music, since we’re a commercial free station. The $5 a month option is definitely cost effective and the social features would be cool for college radio listeners.

I have a support ticket out asking the Spotify folks if this is OK, but legally would we be allowed to do this?
