Internet – In Car Listeners 45Million And Growing April 7, 2011

Now that the predictions of Internet radio in cars have become a reality it might be fun to look at the impact this will have on terrestrial radio.  Unlike us, advertisers (the driving force behind the very existence of the medium) are always more interested in a stations ability to deliver their audience (the numbers) than what the station plays.  Since this rule is what every commercial station lives or dies by it will be interesting to see the reaction of how terrestrial radio  will respond when comparing the numbers to Internet Radio.  At present it’s expected that, this year alone, there will be  around 45 million new listeners delivered to the new media on their dial.
